For Liz and anyone else: To help lose weight: drink an 8oz glass of water about 30 minutes before each meal. Measure portions and stick to serving sizes and the food pyramid; no 2nds except on veggies (not potatoes), eat all the fresh/raw fruit and veggies you want. With the asthma: no dogs and no carpeting in the bedroom; keep your mattress and pillow(s) covered in plastic; if dogs are in the house, vacuum daily, and keep them off the furniture
I'm still trying to track down the validity of the Canadian newspaper article.

I don't know much about cinnamon, I just have a can of the powdered stuff in my cupboard. You know it's powder if it poofs when you measure it and gets all over the counter...

I tried the weight loss and came to the conclusion that ice cream is much more palatable! I am so sensitive to tastes and these mixed together was impossible to continue after a couple of days. Sorry, my stick-to-it just isn't...

I recently read an article about cinnamon. There are two types. Both are beneficial, but the African variety is stronger. I'll find the article (I think it's in the mag "Body and Soul" and scan and mail it to you. It may take a while; most of maladies you list here, I have, as well as chronic pain. Love your site, I have you in my reader and my blog lists your most current posting. Thanks for your help. scribadiva
